We have had an amazing first week back! All the children have come back after Easter ready to learn and very focused!
In Maths this week we have been looking at counting in 10's forwards and backwards from any given number. We have been looking at patterns when counting in 10's for example: 7,17,27,37,47 - the ones stay the same and then 10's go up by 1 ten each time. Any practice you do at home would be fantastic!
In Literacy we have started our new book 'Man on the Moon'! The children have been writing diary entries, postcards and even created their own 'souvenir stall' for the tourists who visit space.
In topic we started the week with a space quiz, which the children loved! We then moved on to make our moon with paper mache! We all found this very tricky but they are starting to come together, we just need to add on the craters.
This week every child has been in school everyday, just a reminded to get 100% attendance children need to be on time. We all have our fingers crossed that we will win the attendance trophy on Monday!
now how brown down town
Can you find 3 objects around the house and compare them to one another?
Using the words (taller, tall, tallest, shorter, short, shortest). For example - the book is taller than the shoe. The milk carton is tall but the door is taller. My teddy is the shortest.
The attendance for 1HA the week before half term was94.7%. We need to be getting at least 96%. We really want to win the attendance trophy next week. Lets try to be in school and on time every day this week.
Today we made our moves count
for Sport Relief 2018, helping raise money to change the lives of people in the
UK and across the world. We took part in a sponsored obstacle course, rugby training, yoga and we
have been completing sports relief activities!! This has been so much fun!!
We improved our attendance from last week! This week we had 96% attendance and the majority of our class won a 100% attendance certificate and will be involved in the attendance afternoon at the end of term!
Lets keep it up and try really hard to win the attendance trophy after half term :)
Anabelle is always extremely thoughtful, polite and caring. She puts 100% effort into not only her school work but also her reading and homework out of school. She is a fantastic friend to everybody and always makes us laugh and smile!
This week in maths we have been looking at ordering two digit numbers. The children have been focusing on looking at the tens and then the ones to identify which number is the biggest and which number is the smallest.
In topic we have had lots of fun this week looking at the planet 'Saturn' and learning facts about the different planets. The children have been painting planets and sketching patterns that appear on the moon!
This week in Maths we have begun to count up in twos to fifty. Have fun around the home, be as creative as you want. Dig out your families shoes, group them in pairs and start counting. Mum's earrings, cutlery, socks. Don't forget to send some photos! Have fun!
Attendance - our attendance need to be above 96% - lets try really hard next week to win the attendance trophy!
